Services

Four capabilities. One team, from first sketch to opening day.

Most retail projects lose more value at the hand-offs than anywhere else — strategy to design, design to documentation, documentation to site. We do not hand off. The people who argue about category adjacency are the people who seal the drawings.

01

Retail Strategy

Before the store is drawn, decide what it is supposed to do.

Strategy in retail design is not a workshop and a mood board. It is a set of decisions that constrain every drawing that follows — where the customer enters, what they meet first, which categories subsidise which, and how much floor the experience is allowed to consume.

Deliverables
  • Customer journey mapping
  • Store format definition
  • Category adjacency & zoning plan
  • Brand positioning in space
  • Display-ratio model & targets
  • Benchmark & competitor review
Typical questions
  • What does this store do that a website cannot?
  • Which category earns the front?
  • How long should a visit take?
  • What makes them walk one aisle further?
  • What has to be true in store two hundred?
02

Retail Design

The part everyone can see — and the part that has to survive being merchandised.

We design the store as a sequence rather than a plan: what you see from the concourse, at the threshold, at ten metres, at the turn. Fixtures, lighting and graphics are designed as one system, because in a working store they are experienced as one thing.

Deliverables
  • Store planning & circulation
  • Shopfront & facade design
  • Reflected ceiling & feature design
  • Lighting strategy
  • Material & finishes palette
  • Visual merchandising system
  • Signage & wayfinding hierarchy
  • Fixture family design
How we work
  • Sequence-first, not plan-first
  • Identity carried overhead, not on the floor
  • A kit of parts, not one-off joinery
  • Designed for the messy state, not the photograph

Technical Delivery

Where retail design usually falls apart, and where we are most useful.

A concept is worth nothing until someone can build it for a number. We produce full construction documentation in-house — not outsourced to a drafting service after the design team has moved on — because the detail decisions are design decisions.

For chain retailers this is the capability that compounds. A properly structured set becomes a template; the second store costs less than the first, and the twentieth costs far less than the second.

Deliverables
  • Design development packages
  • Full construction drawing sets
  • Drawing registers & revision control
  • Detail & fixture typicals
  • Finishes & signage schedules
  • M&E coordination
  • Bills of quantity & tender documents
  • Value engineering
  • Rollout & refurbishment packages
Standards we hold
  • Concealed lighting drawn so it cannot be lost in value engineering
  • Title block never overlaps drawing content
  • One module standard shared across CAD, 3D and costing
  • Every set issued with a maintained drawing register

Visualisation

Images that are used to decide, not just to admire.

Renders in retail have a job: to get a decision out of a committee that includes people who cannot read a plan. We model to the same module standard as the drawings, so what is approved in the render is what appears in the tender.

Deliverables
  • Photorealistic interior & shopfront renders
  • Animation & walkthrough
  • VR walkthrough on request
  • Fixture & display prototyping
  • Tender presentation sets
  • Signage & graphic mock-ups
Principle
  • Model from the real module standard
  • Light the render the way the store is specified
  • Show the store merchandised, not empty
  • Never render what cannot be built for the budget
Engagement

Three ways clients work with us.

A

Single store

  • One flagship or concept store
  • Strategy through construction set
  • Typical duration 4–9 months
B

Format & rollout

  • Prototype store plus a repeatable template
  • Site-adaptation packages per location
  • Ongoing across a programme
C

Technical partner

  • You hold the concept; we document it
  • Construction sets, BQ, tender support
  • Fast turnaround on live programmes

Not sure which one fits? Tell us the store count and the timeline — that usually decides it.
